Synopsis

Album Description
Full title - Sings Some Things Old & Some Things New. Diane herself has put together this terrific collection that takes us from her very first demo recording (of 'Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart') through highlights from her Bob Crewe-produced Atco recordings, including four unreleased demos and other rare tracks from United Artist...and that's only CD one. CD two is totally unreleased, including a remake of 'Navy Blue' and other recordings from the 60s and the 80s, for a total of 35 tracks in all. Diane supplies the very personal and touching notes, too...if you're a fan, this is godsend. Diane Renay Recordings. 2002.

The Definitive Diane Renay Anthology
Don In AZ | Arizona | 11/17/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Diane's recording career started when she was just 13 or 14 years old, and she reached the peak of her fame with "Navy Blue" in 1964. Even today, it's hard to tune into an 'oldies' station without hearing it!

This collection features many previously unreleased gems, some from her own private collection, of songs she recorded during the years of her early success, as well as the results of her recording sessions in the 1980s. All this capped off by one of the most beautiful renditions of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" you'll likely ever hear. Her voice is breathtakingly clear, with an amazing vocal range. I can highly recommend this CD!
