"These are the most romantic, the sexiest long/jazz songs I've heard in a long time. What a great vocal stylist Diane is. She is awesome!!"
Diane Schuur Does it Again . . . but better!

"I have all of Diane Schuurs recordings and consider myself a "fan," but this recording exemplifies the Blues/Jazz style that is soul searching, painful and ecstatic at the same time. The audio is wonderful, the cuts are carefully layed out, and the experience is exciting."
MASTERFUL VOCALS~PURE BLISS FROM SCHUUR!!!!

"When this wondrous classic collection of masterful performances first came out, it completely blew off the top of my head and I played it endlessly and years later still do! The wildly soulful opener "NOBODY DOES ME" is a totally awesome performance and nobody can match this riveting performance...next is the lushly romantic "ALL CAUGHT UP IN LOVE" and by now it is clear that this is a seriously great collection of amazing vocals to be enjoyed over and over for years to come!!! "'DEED I DO" is a sophisicated and fun jazz romp while a intoxicating "UNFORGETTABLE" becomes exactly that! Luckily I had the pleasure and privilege of attending DIANE'S UCLA ROYCE HALL CONCERT the year of the release of this musical masterwork and she was pure magic and received numerous deserved standing ovations...for those who want to experience the best in great singer's do not miss this memorable collection of peerless performances...this is singing as good as it gets! Thank you Diane Schuur!!!"
Unforgettable

""Pure Schuur" is the first cd of Diane's I came in contact with, and while, yes, a few of the tracks are a bit drab... but that comes with every record. "You Don't Remember Me" is what drew me into the sounds of Diane Schuur. It is a moving piece as well as the several of my favorites that are on this cd. For any of us who made it into Jazz Choir/Ensemble back in school, this is worth listening to."
Combination of smooth jazz/schmaltz

"The CD features primarily smooth jazz or schmaltzy arrangements. Not too much actually grips the listener or is passionate. To overcompensate for this, Dianne tends to oversing shrilly on a few numbers, hitting high notes for the sake of hitting high notes, rather than for the sake of the song. There are much better albums of hers out there. As another reviewer notes, there are a couple of good cuts. My favorite is where she swings the blues with Joe Williams in a big band setting on "Deed I Do", which is a lot of fun. But when I want to listen to Dianne, I'll be reaching for one of the jazzier or more soulful albums she has recorded."
