Dinah glows in spite of her obtuse record label

"RCA never had the slighest clue what to do with Dinah Shore when it came to albums. It was when she moved on to Capitol that she recorded a brilliantly conceived series of theme albums working with the best musicians in the business (Red Norvo, Andre Previn for starters). "Holding Hands at Midnight" is typical RCA fare--bland concept, bland cover bland bland bland but Dinah's warmth, honesty and musicianship still come through. It's a lovely album because of her and perfect for rainy nights at home. You'll love it."
