"This CD collection is packaged in two separate crystals and enveloped together in one box.Dinah certainly outdoes Billie Holiday and is akin to Nancy Wilson.Words to describe these two CDs are not enough and escape me.I was horrified to learn that Dinah died in 1963 at the age of 39 from a drug overdose after seven marriages. On these disks, she is fully in command and in full flower. Her loss is a loss for American music in general. It would have been great to see her in concert."

"Nobody could ever sing like Dinah and this classic collection shows you why she was truly a "singer's singer" who strongly influenced greats such as Aretha Franklin, Miki Howard, Patti Austin, Nancy Wilson and Esther Phillips!! "September In The Rain" is a great opener as Dinah sings this standard with so much feeling you know this has to be the definitive version. "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" gets a haunting reading and the swinging "All Of Me" shows that this legend is totally versatile and has great rhythm and timing in addition to being a master of ballads! Smoldering passion finds Dinah chillingly great in Noel Coward's "Mad About The Boy" and I cannot imagine any singer ever comming close to this song after hearing this!!! "Unforgettable" is exactly that in Dinah's hands and "This Bitter Earth" is a masterpiece. "I Wanna Be Loved" is Dinah at her sensual best and "You Don"t Know What Love Is" is completely haunting with a gorgeous vocal that has a sound and rich tone all its own. I could really go on forever about all of the classic masterpieces in this great collection such as "What A Difference A Day Makes" or the bluesy "I Don't Hurt Anymore" or the tart "Tears To Burn" but just click and order this collection and begin an experience that will give you unlimited years of enjoyment!!! Bravo Dinah"
