"My parents bought this on audio cassette when I was a little kid, and we loved it. The entire family can still sing all the songs. When we found it on Amazon, we were ecstatic, because we lent our cassette to a local singer years ago and never saw it again. So you'll know, the CD version differs from the original in a couple of respects. Firstly, nearly all of the dialogue has been re-recorded. They made a few minor changes to the script, and corrected the pronunciation of "diplodocus" from "DIP-luh-DOC-us" to "di-PLO-duhcus." I can live with those changes, even though the old pronunciation has been retained in the songs. However, there is one big thing which I personally find disappointing: Dinah Diplodocus' voice and personality have been significantly changed. In the original, Dinah spoke with a slow, heavy, ponderous voice that perfectly called to mind a giant creature longer than a city bus and several stories high. In the new version, her voice is light and airy, and she *giggles.* The new voice is *totally* unsuited to her character. All the other character's voices are pretty much the same, though the new children are a bit squeakier than the old ones. Also, one of the songs was altered: in track 14, "The Tiny Little Babies & The Great Big Momma," they've added in a few lines sung by a baby diplodocus who got no dialogue or singing time in the original. I wouldn't mind so much, except that the segments were poorly mixed in and sound discongruous.Overall, it's still an excellent CD. I happen to think the original was superior, but that's probably because I was practically weaned on it. To a new listener, I doubt the changes would matter. So by all means, buy this for your kids, your nephews and nieces, and so on!"

"My son is twenty-one years old. I purchased this cassette as an Xmas present when he was only four. It was a family favorite for years- I bought more copies for various kids I have known and loved and it was always a hit. Just the other day my son and I were reminising fondly- we still know all the songs. It occurred to me to see if by some miracle it was still available- I can't believe it. I intended to give me a CD version for this Xmas! Anyway, the songs are all catchy tunes, and parents won't mind hearing this one again and again."

"WOW! This album is the perfect gift for children of all ages. We first received the cassette tape as a gift many years ago. Since then, we have been looking all over for it. The only place we have found it at has been Amazon.com. Not only does this masterpiece reflect great music that you will be singing forever, but it is educational, crisp, clear, and just plain fun. We have been singing "Tiny little babies...and the great big Momma" for many years, hoping that some day we would find the album again, and now, at over 18 years old, we are able to share this timeless treasure with our younger cousins. It's truly remarkable!"

"One word: AWESOME! Andrew Lloyd Webber has nothing on these guys. Many years ago, as children, when we first received this CD, we were completely and utterly blown away by its musical quality and sound. It has an excellent storyline, and wonderful compelling songs that keep you begging for more. Professor Jones and his gang will remain in our hearts forever. We're now 18, and we still feel the same way. We have been looking for this CD for years. NOW THAT WE'VE FOUND IT, WE'LL BE FOSSIL FINDING FOREVER!"

"WOW! is right. I bought this for my son who is in a dinosaur phase - but dinoaurs or not this music is truly excellent. I have come on to order some copies as gifts, and was glad to see it rated 5 stars consistently. I am taking the time to write this because I think the artists are truly gifted. These songs would rival any popular songs on the radio. The great thing for kids is that they range in style through the decades (i.e., one 40s style, one 50s style, etc.). These are the types of tunes that really stay with you in a totally fun way. I thought I would mind displacing my own music with some for the kids -- but with CDs like these I can honestly say that I don't mind. It is a truly clever combination of good music, clever wording, and interesting content. Very recommended - for ages 2 through 10 at least. Really fun."
