"This was one of the best rock albums released in 2000. Ronnie Dio is still the best hard rock singer ever. Craig Goldie's guitar playing sounds much like Tony Iommi or Zakk Wylde (although not quite as good at Zakk.) The riffs very between dark, slow, ultra-heavy melodies and high-speed riffs, making this album even better than The Last In Line. Be sure to buy the Japanese Polydor version of this album becaus it includes an awesome instrumental guitar song titled "Annica" which is not included on the other versions."

"An interesting return of some sorts to what Ronnie does best,e.g.'Holy Diver','The Last In Line',while 'the future is your past'approach reminds one of Ronnie's lyrics in Black Sabbath.Dio always had the gift of surrounding himself with very talented band mates and this album is no exception,being some of his strongest in years.Time to rock!"

"This is trully classic dio,any dio fan with be pleased with cd, I was surprised by craig goldie's cleaned up style of playing...this cd is very "dream evil" although on tracks like "challis" you can really hear a little "holy diver" shine through...no..it's not a holy diver or even a last in line..but it's good ,real good..especially for a concept album..as you've come to expect from RJD, the lyrics are well writen and the quality and clarity of the cd is fantastic..as a long time Dio fan i highly recomend "MAGICA""

"Might very well BE Dio's best work since his first solo outing,'Holy Diver'.For one thing,'Magica' reunites Ronnie James with guitarist Craig Goldy,bassist Jimmy Bain and drummer Simon Wright(of AC/DC).What a killer line-up!Total of sixteen classic modern day metal tunes here,with a duration of 71:43.Nice job on this Japanese import pressing.Tracks like "Lord Of The Last Day",the edgy "Turn To Stone","Feed My Head","Losing My Insanity" and "Other World" are quite similar to vintage Dio and some Rainbow material.Recommended if you're an old Dio fan.You shouldn't be disappointed."
