"I came across this amazing lady thanks to my dad.
She was a favourite of his way back in the '60's when the Warwick/Bacharach team was a jewel of class as well as a brandname in the charts.
This one import compilòation from Japan highlights Dionne'ìs second part of her career from the mid '70's circa up to the mid '90's circa.
Twenty more years in the business sounds astounding, especially when you start listening to so many songs that become instantly familiar in your memories.
Even though i am too young to remember, there are quite a few songs the Bee Gees wrote and produced for here, HEARTBREAKER and ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD being the notable hits.
The Australian bros once again prove they brought back to life another star just as they did with Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross.
Stepping into the '80's, FRIENDS IN LOVE is a nice duet with Johnny Mathis c-written by David Foster, that joins other cute duets with Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross on the tracklist.
Definitely the strongest point of the whole collection is THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR, a # 1 hit back in 1985, and a star-studded group of Dionne's friends joining in with her: Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder.
The mood gets back to classic with my favourite song from the greatest hits, LOVE POWER.
Written by Bacharach/Bayer-Sager, it features Jeffrey Osbourne and is a gem of class pop.
Dionne proves to be someone who is not afraid to experiment, she also duets with reknown '80's producer Kashiff, gives it a shot with an uptempo song called WHISPER IN THE DARK and performs even a Lisa Stansfield-penned track, FRIENDS CAN BE LOVER.
But let's not forget that Dionne is Whitney Houston's cousin...so what happens when you pair them for a duet? Well, LOVE WILL FIND A WAY is surely not one hell of a track, but their voices are so good together, you just can't help to like it!
Definitely something reccomended to be bought!"
