CD Reviews

Too bad
Xanthippe | France | 05/19/2007
(2 out of 5 stars)

"The whole reissue serie hasn't been remastered. Worse, sound is far more inferior to previous reissues. In particular the Sequel serie, which was sounding quite good. So... avoid! It's a shame there hasn't been a proper remastering of the whole Warwick Scepter records..."
Dionne: live and remastered!
A. Salas | Brooklyn, New York United States | 05/24/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I envy anyone who was around for Dionne's live gigs in the 60s... she was a total performer, never skimping on emotion or flawless renditions of her awesome hits. Live In Paris is a great slice of that experience, with a great selection of songs. My only complaint, it's too short... and no bonus tracks like the previous Rhino remasterings. But if you crave more live remastered Dionne, order "Very Dionne", which has a collection of stellar live bonus tracks.

I saw someone here was complaining about the sound of this CD. Very strange, I own the new Collector's Choice releases and they all sound great, definitely remastered. Perhaps not up to Bill Inglot/Rhino standards, but pretty damn good.

Get them all!"
Excellent CD for Fans of Sacha Distel and Dionne.

"I have had the LP album since I was 12 years old. I couldn't part with it Even though I didn't have a record player. Sacha Distel introduced Dionne to Europe at the Olympia Theater. The CD is better, of course, than the LP. Copies are sometimes lacking quality. This brings all those memories back to me."
