A beautiful, melodic CD.

"Beautiful is the only word to describe the overall feeling of this single. Before I go on, I might point out that there are actually three tracks on this single:
01. ???? [Taiyou no Ao]
02. children
03. ???? -Mix- [Taiyou no Ao -Mix-]
Track one, Taiyou no Ao, is a rather controlled, lyric-intense song. It's laid-back nature (compared to many of Dir en grey's other songs) makes it really unique among Dir en grey's discography. Overall, it's a great song because of it's individuality as well as it's beauty.
Track two, children, is much more hard. It's great because it goes from fast and hard to smooth and slow without a fault. Kyo uses more range in his voice in children than in Taiyou no Ao, making the song much more intense. It's an emotional, relentless song that really adds flavor to the overall single.
Finally, track three, the Taiyou no Ao mix, is an interesting mix by Toshiya, the bassist. It's much quieter and calmer, though for a while it gets a quicker pace, with children's and girls' voices in the forefront. Interestingly, the music sometimes reaches through the voices to take the foreground, but then falls back into "background" music. It's just really interesting. Overall, the sound has a decidedly tropical, Hawaian feel to it. A great remix.
Overall, a great single. Because it's Dir en grey and a great single in and of itself, I recommend it. Taiyou no Ao is included in their album, "Macabre," children is in "six Ugly," and the remix of Taiyou no Ao is in their remix album, "KAI" if you are interested in getting these same songs but in album form. Try some of their music if you haven't already. You'll probably like it."
