"This soundtrack is not for the Snap Crackle POP fans. So if you are looking for some insignificant meaning catchy tunes, don't bother. What this CD is, is a CD for the soul, for your rythym and your blues. Are you guys following me yet? Let me start with the sultry sounds of Chaka Khan on the track Have a Little Faith in Me, right on into the tempo and flow of Melky Sedeck's Brooklyn(you guys betta work, feelin yall, feelin yall to the utmost). Terry Ellis does her thing also, if you havent heard her first solo CD check it out, this will give you a taste of her vocal talents. The Spooks sure enough spooked me with their mellow smoothness. Who are you and where have you been? Loving yall!Love Language with those european sistas of ours Les Nubians and brotha Talib Kweli is definitely a must hear.Bottom line, Disappearing Acts Soundtrack is Godiva Chocolate for the ears.........Ear Candy!!!!Always a pleasure to hear Donny Hathaway serenade you, me and every other person in love with "Song for You"Rather than be long and drawn out, sit back with a glass of zinfandel and your mate, enjoy the ride, comeback to amazon and give me a high five on my correctness of this recommendation. This CD is hot. A must have. A soulful rejoicing affirmation that Soul lives on...and on.....and on..."
The pluses far outweigh the minuses

"Never saw the movie but that hardly matters with the jewels to be enjoyed on the soundtrack. The highlights on this collection are major highlights: Chaka's emotional cover of John Hiatt's Have A Little Faith In Me, the stunning pair from Melky Sedeck (where have they been???), Terry Ellis' sparse Call On Me, and Spooks' haunting Sweet Revenge are just a few of the choicest cuts. The album plays like a unified whole rather than just a selection of r'n'b tracks and while it loses steam a little towards the end and includes a couple of more generic offerings, the good stuff is sooo good, this still warrants five stars."
The best soundtrack of 2000!!

"This is a GREAT CD!! Not since Love Jones have I heard such great music on a soundtrack. I am very impressed with the artist lineup. You have some of everything on here. I LOVE the first track from Angie Stone. The classic tune from Donny Hathaway fit right in. And Curtis Mayfield's Super People came in right on time. Melky Sedeck is a much needed breath of fresh air. The sistah girl can SANG. Watch out Erykah and Jill! LOL ... Terry Ellis from Envogue let us know she still got it going on in the vocals department. GO TERRY! The cuts from a group called Spooks were jammin on and on. I need say no more. BUY THIS CD!! NOW!!"
