When it comes to morphing, Power Rangers producer Haim Saban is no slouch himself, having seen his efforts at translating and marketing a '70s Japanese kids' action show originally called Dinosaur Task Force Zyuranger blos... more »som into a billion-dollar pop-culture empire. This soundtrack chronicles the musical side of the Saban/Power Rangers saga, collecting 16 tracks that span the 1990s' "Go, Go Power Rangers" through the show's Turbo and Zeo phases to its more recent Wild Force incarnation. For the uninitiated, the music here is a long way from cutesy Hanna-Barbera jingles; Saban (who's credited with cowriting many of the tracks) and his studio sidemen have concocted convincing facsimiles of everything from bracing, metallic techno-thrash to harmony-driven modern rock and the swaggering hip-hop of "I Will Rescue You." Powered largely by thunderous bass and drums and punctuated by screaming guitar solos, it's an unlikely bastion for Metallica-lite speed-metal sensibilities, but one that fits its flashing spandex heroes to a "T." --Jerry McCulley« less

"I bought this C.D. with the understanding that many of my favorites wouldn't be on it. However, I didn't know that the original and Turbo theme songs would be redone (for the worse.) Another negative review states that only three of the songs are from the series. I would assume that those songs are tracks 6, 7, & 8. 6 is from the Turbo Power Rangers Movie. 7 & 8 are from the Zeo series. If you're willing to buy the album for these three alone, go ahead. Otherwise, you're probably in for a disappointment."
