Takes Awhile To Sink In
K. Fontenot | The Bayou State | 01/19/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This album wasn't in my frequent rotation for a long time. In fact, I only recently broke this out after I planned my daughter's first trip to Disney World. Though I question some of the interpretations on here, especially the Pointer Sisters' version of "Yo Ho," I must admit that this album has really captured my ear. Take 6, Barenaked Ladies and Patti Austin give wonderful performances of their respective songs. They are the highlights of a mostly good album. One song stands apart from the rest. Brian McKnight's stirring rendition of "Remember the Magic" is a moving experience. It alone makes this album worthy of purchase.

Overall, this album really is a good purchase. It's perfect for packing your bags for Disney World or just a quiet evening at home. All of these songs are fun, uplifting numbers that will quickly brighten the spark of childhood that all adults have somewhere deep inside of them."

"I truly enjoyed this CD. Great new arrangements of some of the best Parks music ever! To me Barenaked Ladies and Tim Curry are stand outs. I could have done without The Pointer Sisters doing "Yo Ho" but over all it's still a great listen!!!"
