"See the larger CD album image, and at its top you'll see Avid's boast, "...probably the finest ever sound quality..." Huh? This is slime remastering at its lamest and most irresponsible. I don't understand the UK's penchant, year after year, for destroying the audio of great classic sessions. Look, if you don't believe me, spend two bucks to hear for yourself (before you waste your money thinking you're getting a deal for four albums). Download "The Champ" from WORLD STATESMAN from this Mp3 album. Then download "The Champ" Mp3 from the Verve BIRKS WORKS Big Band Sessions. Yes, they are identical recordings (the WORLD STATESMAN album is also part of the domestic BIRKS WORKS compliation).



Then compare; you'll hear it right away! Oh, my heavens, this UK issue sounds like you're listening to it with your hands cupped over your ears. I think the UK engineering idiots had theirs over their ears...or who knows where else, because clearly their minds--and hearts--could not have been atuned to this music. THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!



And please pay no mind to the earless who'll tell you, "Oh, great music, put up with the sound!" By putting up with this remastering mediocrity, we support the clowns who butcher this music. And do you really want to spend money on inferior audio, when you can really hear Dizzy's band cracklin' by purchasing the individual albums, some of which are available used at dirt cheap prices?
