Excellent evolutionary release

"Punkgasm is a continuation of the direction that they took with World Class Listening Problem, but to me it is a much more experimental CD than anything previously recorded by them. Most of their CDs retained a "character" production-wise. Some might complain they sounded the same on every track (American Don for example I would classify as 'clean' and 'transparent' while '2' is more 'rough' and 'harsh' sounding, neither is a complaint and I do love this band a lot). Punkgasm though has a lot of variation on it, even while sounding very Don Cab-ish. There is also an amazing flow to the CD where short songs like "the irrespective dick area" and "why is the couch always wet?" serve as bridges between the longer songs. You will also notice vocals and even horns on this cd. They completely serve the songs well and add nice depth to the already complex sound they have forged. I would heartily recommend this to old Don Cab fans that are not afraid of a little variation and (in my opinion) evolution, and to fans of math-rock in general."
Very good indeed!

"I knew that the new lineup would solidify in some time and this album is proof. This is one of the best rock albums I've heard in a really long time. They had one practice album with World Class Listening Problem, which did have its good moments, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't stand up to their other releases. Punkgasm on the other hand absolutely does. It seems to get better with every listen too, which is a great quality. And yep, there's vocals on a couple of tracks, but don't worry they pull it off somehow."
