"Don Dixon, producer extraordinaire and husband of singer Marti Jones, comes up with a robust effort (and virtual one-man show) on his latest venture, "The Invisible Man." Writing all the songs, playing virtually every instrument and vocally accompanied only by Marti Jones on two songs, Dixon's work is a song-cycle on the various chronological viewpoints of men. Intrestingly, the songs do not reflect the different ages of the male characters in a chronological but rather a scattered order ranging from an 18-year old ("Decline & Fall") to an 85-year old ("All I Wanted.") The strongest songs on the CD are "High Night For The Tide" (the 23-year old male,) an ambitious piece with incredible vocals by Marti contributed, and "Invisible & Free," the first song which sets the tone for the entire work. I love Dixon's words regarding this project... "This record is about morality & redemption...many different characters appear as singers...I am none of them & all of them." If you are a Dixon fan, you'll enjoy this latest venture. If you've never experienced Don before, it's an interesting place to sample an ambitious artist with full creative juices flowing."
