"Electric Bath is one of the wildest things that happened in this century. First time I heard the vinyl disc at a friends home some 20 years ago I got hooked. Unfortunately that record was lost so I hadn't a chance to go back to it. Fortunately, I was re-leased on CD. I'm one of the happiest beings on earth.It's to regret that Don Ellis died at that early age. In addition to the personal tragedy we all lost a genius that could have unlimited opportunities in this times of better music production techniques."

"It's been more than 30 years since I put this (originally vinyl) recording on and it has been burned into my psyche. It is as fresh today as ever and the above comments about Ellis' untimely demise are so true. He was just beginning to find his audience and for many years "Indian Lady" was his signature piece. Buy this album and scream for the label to release his later ones on CD in the very near future. You will not be disappointed."

"Don Ellis was a one-of-a-kind composer-arranger-musician. With the influence of his association with Indian musicians and his roots in Third Stream music it was only natural that he stood the big band movement on it's ear. This recording, from beginning to end, is the perfect introduction to the music of Don Ellis. Some of the tunes appear on other recordings, the most noteworthy being the live version of "Indian Lady" which roars from the first note to the last. I got to see him once with the last version of his orchestra with the string section. Do yourself a favor; buy this. And let's hope they continue to re-release more of his music. My vinyl copies are wearing out."
