An arsenal of high-wattage guests and fresh beats spice up Da Hitman Presents Reggaeton Latino, an energetic remix collection that plays like a sizzling genre primer. Former preacher-turned-reggaeton ambassador Don Omar ha... more »s assembled single remixes, collaborations, and a few new tracks for a collection that pumps and sways with effortless ease. There's nothing here that hasn't been featured on other albums, but the sum of so many hip-swiveling parts is pretty great indeed. Fat Joe and N.O.R.E. lend some grit to the title track; hip-hop star Fabolous brings a confident flow to "Dale Don Dale"; and reggaeton master Tego Calderon colors "Bandoleros" with his breezy, streetwise vibe. "Ella y Yo," a previously released pairing with Bachata group Aventura, still simmers, as does "Hold You Down," a silk-and-sandpaper duet with Jennifer Lopez that vastly improves on the wispy original. (Sorry, Fat Joe.) Standout track "Dile" gives Don Omar a chance to showcase his distinct vocal flow, but it's the album closer "Guayaquil"--a fiery, tropical cumbia--that proves this Hitman still has a few tricks up his sleeve. --Joey Guerra« less

"I guess the smart thing to do now days is not to rush to your record store and buy a cd the day it comes out, specially when it's a reggaeton cd, since it seams like every other cd that comes out after a few months it gets re-released as a platinum edition, and then you have to go back to the store and spend more money to get the new "improved" version. that being said this cd falls in the middle, it's not a re release for say, and its not a greatest hits album, Don Omar has not been around that long to have a greatest hits album he's not Shaq now! but this cd is what it is, some of his best songs, remixed, some off his colaborations, and some good marketing. anyone with a cd burner can make this cd in a few minutes, but to some pleople actually owning it no matter if they have the songs already is the only way to be happy. don't get me wrong this cd is excellent, I only gave it 4 stars because it seems a little short (12 songs) he could have added a couple new tracks. if you din't buy his previus albums this is a most buy, if you did it's up to you, but chances are if you already had these songs this cd will get played for a while and then go on the shelf, cause it really doesn't offer anything that you haven't heard."
