One star missing.

"It's been two decades since I've been as excited about a band as I am about The Innocence Mission. Something about the combination of poetry and music that speaks of a profound spirituality of beauty. (Sorry, I always sound a bit dweebish when I talk about these guys.) That being said, however, I can only give this 4 stars. Don is a master arranger/producer, but only a very good songwriter and pleasant singer. Karen is the missing star. If you love The Innocence Mission as I do, you'll still want to add this to your collection. For newbies, start elsewhere."

"This recording far exceeded my expectations, and I recommend it.
Don's singing and songwriting is very consistent with that on the IM recording "Birds of My Neighborhood". His songs have a sense of beauty all their own. I have read comments likening Don's singing and the textures of his accompaniement to Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush". I would liken it more to Neil Young's "Silver and Gold", as they both have an overwhelming sweetness and a gentle quality which is very affecting. Actually, come to think of it, if you crossed "Silver and Gold" with "Birds of My Neighborhood", you would come out with something very much like this!"
