"The charismatic "Master of Crowd Control" finally gets to put out his own mix CD...Yay!! =) DG is one of the godfathers of the West Coast underground sound, and the idol of many an aspiring young house DJ. Buy this CD if you want a fine permanent record of the man's style, or if you can't see see him spin live. The results are good, and DG's mixing style really shines through. However...I've seen him spin at parties big and small, and his personal energy adds so much to the sets he plays ("can u feel it?") He always works the 1-2-3, and his hands literally fly on and off the vinyl--I've never witnessed anyone with as much finesse and charisma on the decks. His ability to scratch and beat match is seamlessly displayed on this CD: you'll swear it's just part of the track, but trust me--it's all live! But what's missing here is his empathic ability to feed off the crowd and to always be bringing them (us) to a higher level...(The sound on the CD is also ever-so-slightly sub-par for the otherwise excellent Moonshine label.)If you do buy this CD, please make sure you catch him live at a party in Seattle--he spins out almost every week--or anywhere in the world that he headlines. This CD deserves a place in your techno collection for it's sheer turntable wizardry (and for my money there's no one better than DG) but *please* do yourself the service of seeing the man live!"
Donald Glaude tears it up... but 10X better live.

"Im from the Seattle area, and am lucky enough to see Glaude spin as often as I want to. Hes at virtually every party every weekend here in seattle, and his energy constantly tears up the dance floor with his pumped-up house tracks. Still... this album doesnt do DG enough justice. The sound quality is a little shotty (Moonshine?), and he can do just so much better live. But you say, well he only has one album out?!? WRONG! Tomorrow (June 23, 2001), Glaude comes out with a new album in stores called Mixed Live. I had the opportunity to preview it and its BANGIN. Its one of the best house albums ive ever heard, check that one out if u want to hear what everyone has been talking about when they say Glaude will be the next big international House DJ! Peace."

"Donald is just one of the best DJ's around and he displays just some of his talent on this CD. He knows how to pump up a crowd and this CD definetly will pump you up. I will admit, however, if you are looking for just what he does live, you might not like it as much. But the beats are tight and when I play it at parties I usually have people come up to me and ask what it is cause they like it and a few actually go out and buy it. Donald is the man, and yes, see him live."
Great mix with poor sound quality

"The tracks and mixing on this disc are phenomenal! Donald Glaude never bores the listener - his selection is bumpin, with plenty of buildups and breakdowns. To me, some standout tracks are "Catch Da Monkey" by Atomic Babies and "Freaque" by Andy Trex and Commander Tom. The former has some of the funkiest synths ever towards the end of the track and the latter you just cant help but jump up to when the drums kick in fully. The reason I gave this mix only 4 stars is due to the sound quality of the recording. It is muffled and a bit flat. I really don't understand how this got past quality control at Moonshine or whatever.. Donald's other mixes are crystal clear, and those are recorded live. If you can overlook the poor sound quality (I know I can) all you have to do, as the beginning of the CD instructs, is "sit back, relax, and enjoy.""
