CD ReviewsDreamtime Amaranth | Northern California | 06/17/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Mysterious Places" is an atmospheric New Age album with soundscapes for enigmatic places in the world. There are various flavors of world music to enjoy as well, from the Middle Eastern ambience of the Pyramids to the primal Celtic mysteries of Stonehenge. It's a perfect album for meditation or yoga. It's profoundly spiritual.
"Mysterious Places" opens with the Arabic sounds of the Pyramids. "Angkor Wat" and "Chichen Itza" are more enigmatic. They're vaguely Asian or Mexican. "Delphi" evokes the famous oracle with its ethereal sound. "The Great Wall" is traditional Chinese music melded with Nature. "Stonehenge" sounds more Celtic. "Mysterious Places" is a soothing meditation." |
