"Here are the last two albums recorded by Donny and Marie on one brilliant cd. I was a huge fan of Donny and Marie throughout their career (and still today.) WINING COMBINATION was my favorite of all the Donny and Marie releases. It was released in 1977 and I was 16. I found this album to have a more mature pop/r@b tinged sound. Vocals by both are amazing as they got a little older. I love all the tracks here. Beginning with the title track the musical party never lets up. Highlights for me are WINNING COMBINATION, BEST OF ME, I WANT TO GIVE YOU MY EVERYTHING and I WANT TO BE IN YOUR WORLD. Also, the solo tracks by each are brilliant - Marie with ANGEL LOVE and Donny with YOU REMIND ME. With this album I wanted them to sing together forever,. I watched their television show religiously every Friday night and saw them live in concert over and over. I loved Donny and Marie.
Sadly, their last release together was GOIN' COCONUTS. It was a partial soundtrack to a film they released at that time. Some of the songs are from the movie but many aren't. It was a very good album. ON THE SHELF was a disco wonder and other great tracks are DON'T PLAY WITH THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU, GIMME SOME TIME and YOU NEVER CAN TELL.
This was the end to a very unique time in history. The Donny and Marie Show was the last truly successful variety show. Both Donny and Marie went on to succesful careers. Marie did Broadway and had a hugely succesful solo country career Donny also went on to success and now they are together again for a lengthy reunion in Las Vegas.
As with all the other two albums on one cd, this cd sounds amazing with the dital remastering and the liner notes are full of info. It is such a gift to have all the Donny and Marie albums remastered on cd. It is a true testament that quality music will always live on. Even if it was teeny bopper pop, it is very entertaing even to this day.
I can now relive my youth over and over."
Love Donny and Marie

"i had these 2 albums on cassette that were getting to be very poor listening quality; so i'm very happy to have them both on 1 CD; these are great songs and a shame that these albums were more or less overlooked for the duo"
Where's "Donald Clark Osmond" on CD

"I was so glad to finally see Goin' Coconuts & Winning Combination available on CD after wearing my vinyl copies out. I'm so glad to finally see all of The Osmond catalog on CD, but where's the CD release for "Donald Clark Osmond". It's the only one that hasn't been released. Why? It's the most amazing solo album Donny has ever done and I'm hoping that the same company who put out this wonderful release will give Donald Clark Osmond the release it deserves!"
Get down with Donny & Marie!

"I love both of these albums!!! They were my favorite singers and TV stars as a kid and these are their best albums of all time. They sound just as good in 2008 as they did in 1978. Marie especially sounds great and this kind of music is what she should've pursued, instead of being "A little bit country". Winning combination has a motown feel to it and the songs are arranged and sung excellently. The remake of "Soul and Inspiration" gives me chills (much of this album does that) and "Baby I'm sold on you" should have been a #1 single. Too bad D&M suffered from overexposure in the late 70s on TV, because these songs are classics and should have been on the radio. Goin coconuts is also a great album, except for "You never can tell", a Chuck Berry song that should have been replaced with something original. "On the shelf" is my favorite D&M song of all time and it sounds great on CD. "Doctor dancin", "You bring me sunshine" were written by the Osmonds Bros. and are among D&M's best songs. "Gimme some time" is a nice dancable pop song that could have been a hit. Don't miss this slice of 70's American pie. It will keep you hooked if you like pop/r&b/disco songs from that era. New Season is also a great D&M album and I highly reccommend that one as well for all you young, new fans."
