Doro delivers another strong album!

"'Fear No Evil' offers up a great batch of new songs from the Metal Queen... Doro Pesch. Song for song, this album rocks a bit more than the last few.
There are four power ballads on this release: 'Herzblut', 'Walking with Angels'(feat. ex-Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen), 'It Kills Me', and '25 Years'. Nothing boring or snoozy here.
The other seven songs on the mp3 album just rock - no other way to put it. Standout tracks for me are 'On The Run', 'I Lay My Head Upon My Sword', 'The Night Of The Warlock', and 'Caught In a Battle'. The first single 'Celebrate' is catchy (with a side of cheese).
'Fear No Evil' is one of Doro's best.

"Reviewing an album such as this is a fairly pointless activity. I mean the kind of people who are going to buy it (ummm... that would be me by the way) aren't going to give a tinkers cuss what anyone writes as their ability to ingest mountains of cheese renders them immune from any criticism of the product at hand.
You want cheese? How about the dodgy European style spoken word intro? I mean it's right outta 1985. And it then segues into a hard rockin track called The Night of the Warlock which actually kicks a fair amount of buttock.
You want cheese? How about track number 3 Celebrate? Girl power strikes a blow for righteousness here as a bunch of femme metal felines join our heroine to pledge their allegiance to metal. And guess what? Such is her street cred amongst the metal ladies just have a look at this guest appearance list for the track:- Floor Jansen, Angela Gossow, Ji-In Cho, Liv Kristine, Sabina Classen, Veronica Freeman, Liv and Girlschool. Blimey, it's a wonder poor old Biff Byford - who is also on the track - survived to tell the tale.
You want cheese? Try sampling track 7 - Walking With the Angels where our heroine duets with none other than Tarja Turunen. And it works a treat.
You want cheese? Have a look at the front cover. Nary an alteration in the way she has been marketed since around 1984 Burning the Witches. And despite a few wobbles of faith during the mid 90's (Machine II Machine electric club mix anyone?) it has to be said that the relevance of Ms Pesch is mainly due to the fact she hasn't really changed much. Rather, she kept to the same limited though sustaining furrow until the rule that says that `everything comes back into fashion eventually' started to work in her favour. And you know what - she is right and it's a pity more performers don't follow such an example.
The whole product is so well thought out in terms of giving the public what they want right down to the production (modern but not so sanitised it smells like a hospital), the cover and booklet art, lyrics to the whole shebang plus an enhanced section with wallpapers etc and an overriding sense of mission that is totally Teutonic. I mean if this thing was any more German it would come with a model kit for a Tiger tank. Of which I seem to recall building a few in my youth.... and I had this really cool 1/35 scale Panther tank.... oops I think I just shared a bit too much information!
You get the point. If you like Germanic metal or Warlock or Doro then you really don't need to think about buying this album. Just do so. It is a better album than Call of the Wild without a doubt and you really should support such `defenders of the faith' as Metal Hammer magazine might say."
