For Die Hard Fans only

"One of Broadway's all-time greatest musical scores was of course captured by Columbia in 1966 and it is hard to top. Though Jay Records recording does include much of the score never recorded before ("The Rescue" & "Subway" to name a few) the overall excitement of this recording is diminished due to the extremely SLOW tempos the musical director has chosen to take. Jacqueline Dankworth is an odd choice to record Charity (any one of our American musical theater stars, Ziemba, Neuwirth, Peters might have done more interesting work with the material.) For Die hard fans of "Charity" only."
A terrific studio recording

"Although it's hard to equal the classic Original Broadway cast album with Gwen Verdon, this dynamic studio recording with Jacqueline Dankworth and Gregg Edelman almost does the trick. The pluses here are the added musical interludes that weren't recorded on the Broadway cast album and additional songs from the movie version. The sound quality is terrific. If you're a fan of the score and Cy Coleman, buy this immediately. You won't be disappointed."
