Dr. Hook: A piece of Americana

"Dr. Hook went through somewhat of a transformation during the 70's. Though their roots run deep in the bowl of the pot pipe, they did some maturing with songs that spoke of loyalty, poverty stricken lives, and love. Their songs don't glorify the underside of society, but give some meaning and dignity to the less fortunate in a world that only recognizes athletic or financial achievement. The songs they sang have found their way into contemporary country music, and will always have a place in hearts of the "common man" (and woman)."
