Top Notch II - Just as good and catchy as the first!

"For those who remember my review about the first CD, you may notice that I have only one problem with it - it lacks the track "Count on a friend". Well, first of all, the second CD patches out the only problem with the first CD. "Count on a Friend" (listed as "Friends") is one of the tracks on the second CD. As for the other tracks:



"Main Theme"

Well, it's actually "Dragon Tales Theme" again. But I'm not complaining - no soundtrack CD is ever complete without the main theme, even if it's a sequel of the first.



"Friends"

Yep, The Big Kahuna. The only number missing from the first CD. And they even extended the song! This is the track that makes the CD worth getting and your Dragon Tunes soundtrack collection for Season 1 and 2 complete. Of course, there's more reasons apart from this track, too.



"Zak and Wheezie"

Another major complaint about the first CD is that it lacks an ode to the siamese twin dragon duo, Zak and Wheezie. Well, Fans of the dragon duo, rejoice! And what makes this song better, it's done "John Cougar Mellencamp" style, giving it the warm soft-country-rock feel.



"Cmon' & Blow"

A nice, pleasant, upbeat and motivational number. It's one of my favourites already.



"Hola"

It's the first remixed track of of the CD, although they didn't put it down as so. Practically "The Hello Song" with some parts in Spanish. My thoughts on it: Well, I've kinda got used to the Hello Song, so, this one's good too. Enrique, the new character on the show, also has a line in this track.



"The Pirate Song"

A nice pleasant number. Didn't really thought much of it at first, but it has now grown on me.



"Cyrus III"

A kinda okay track.



"Make A New Friend"

This track is about Enrique, the new character on the show. It's upbeat, and has the party atmosphere to it. I like it!



"Speak Up"

A nice, pleasant number. Anoter one of my favourites, if not my most favourite of the bunch.



"Makin' It Fun"

Another nice motivational number. Definately another one of my faves.



"Dragon Stomp"

A lively fun number. If you liked "Be A Dragon" from the first CD, you're sure to like this one.



"Flip Flop"

Another lively number.



"Shake Your Dragon Tail (remix)"

The first remix number of the CD if you don't count in "Hola". The song now has this techno feel to it and is really bouncy now. If there ever was a Dance Dance Revolution game featuring Dragon Tales songs, this one scores a 8 feet rating.



"Dance (remix)"

Like the "Shake Your Dragon Tail" remix, this number also has a techno feel to it. I'd still prefer the original version over this one, but this one's good too.



Overall, this CD is just as good as the original if not better. A lot, if not all of the songs, stick to your brain long after you stop listening, just like the first CD. I've had "Speak Up" and "C'mon and Blow" stuck to my brain since I woke up this morning", and I listened to the CD yesterday night!



If you already have the first CD, this one's a must get. Otherwise, get this one and the original. Having both around is worth every penny."

Joey Levine and Company do it again!!

"This is a great new CD called "More Dragon Tunes". It has more extended versions of songs from the show "Dragon Tales"! Joey Levine sings lead on most of the tracks on the CD. The Dragon Tales theme is heard here but with a different mix."Friends" is also a great 60s soundalike song used in the second season. but there's a second verse you'll only hear on the CD. "Zak and Wheezie", "The Pirate Song", "Hola", and "Cyrus III" are songs I first heard in the Dragon Tales Live Journey to Crystal Cave live show. "Dragon Stomp" and "Cyrus III" sound kind of alike.

"Makin' It Fun" is a song you can form a conga line and dance all night too, and a great song to make work fun to also! The lady who sings lead on "Speak Up" sounds a little like Sheryl Crow, While "Flip Flop" kind of sounds Like a Monkees song with Micky Dolenz on lead vocals(I know Micky isn't on the CD). Remixes of "Shake Your Dragon Tail" and "Dance" will sure to be a hit at Kids' dance parties just like "Teletubbies Say Eh-Oh".

BTW The new character on the show is Enrique, Who moved from Colombia to the USA. Faithful Dragon Tales fans, GET THIS CD!!!"

Dragon Tales is Back!

"After years of waiting, "Dragon Tales" is back with a new season and a new CD. If you or your kids are fans of the show, this is what you've been waiting for! This new CD features 14 tracks, starting with the Main Theme and including everything from new tunes to exciting remixes of past tracks.



Track 3 is "Zak & Wheezie," rounding out the character themes. Cassie and Ord already had their own themes on the previous album. I was kind of expecting something like wild sections of the song for Wheezie and calm sections for Zak. That didn't really happen, but the theme still suits them well. Some other noteable tracks are "Speak Up" (a very sweet tune that's rather Cassie-related, although doesn't directly mention her), "The Pirate Song" (a song about good 'ol Captain Scaliwag) and "Friends," a fun tune that was a Dragon Tune on the second season of the show, but didn't make onto the first CD. "Makin' It Fun" is also an energetic track that parents will probaby like just as much if not more than kids --- it provides encouragement to take that task you're dreading and don't put it off any longer --- instead, make it fun!



There are also two remixes --- "Shake Your Dragon Tail" and "Dance," which are just versions of their respective tunes from the original CD with more energetic / funky music. These are pretty fun, so I say they're worth noting. Also of interest is "Hola," which fans will recognize as a version of the original "Hello" song that mixes Spanish and English.





The only possible gripe about this CD is that at 14 tracks and only a little over a half hour, it's a bit short, but the quality more than makes up to it --- and you can always listen to it again (and again...)"
