A sleeper of a live album

"If I could choose one CD to introduce someone to the L.A. rock scene in the 1980s, this would be it. The Dream Syndicate never got a lot of respect, but they put out a cleansing, high voltage blast of rock 'n' roll that is captured perfectly in this live recording at a ... little club in Hollywood. Somehow Raji's had great sound even though the "bar" was a trash can full of Bud and there was a huge ugly pillar blocking your view downstairs. This is the band at their peak with Paul Cutler on guitar, and there's not a note out of place. Tight, loud, and freaking brilliant."
