The Absolute Best of The Drifters' Later Years!!!

(5 out of 5 stars)
"The "official" Drifters relocated to Great Britian at the start of the '70's, and with Johnny Moore in the lead vocal position, went on to record several wonderful albums for Bell and Arista. They actually had a string of hits in the UK and abroad, though the US did not see the release of many of these tracks... and what a shame that was! The music in this 3-disc budget-priced box set is spectacular! Each song is well-crafted, well-produced, and contageous. This material is not "deep" or overly "artistic," yet it is wonderful in the sense that it is just good, fun, sing-along music. I highly recommend this collection to Drifters' fans and fans of '70's pop and soul!
(Notes: my only complaints are that this set does not include the Drifters' cover of Paul McCartney's "Every Night" and their later 2 singles issued on the CBS lable in the UK. Certainly, BMG could have included those tracks. Beyond these omissions, this set is INCREDIBLE and a sure bang for the buck. BUY IT!!!)"
