Synopsis

Album Description
2009 album from the Denver-based Metalcore outfit. Bolstered by the same crushing intensity that first earned them loyal global following, DDG's electrifying and adventurous new studio disc will leave its Metalcore peers in the dust. Crafted with the guidance of Atlanta-based producer Matt Goldman (Underoath, The Chariot, Copeland), Drop Dead, Gorgeous ups its creative ante on the follow up to its 2007 breakthrough Ross Robinson-produced offering Worse Than A Fairy Tale. Drawing lyrically on real life experiences while fusing unexpected twists and turns to its forceful anthems, THE Hot N' Heavy is diverse, yet cohesive. Disc highlights include the relentless and powerful opener 'Killing A Classic'.

Much better....

(4 out of 5 stars)

"So I've been listening to DDG since "In Vogue" which i enjoyed for the longest time but as i moved on it became very repetitive and old. Then "worse then a fairy tale" came out. ??? a very poor attempt at a concept album. Leave the concept albums to Co&Ca. WTAFT 4/10 i hated it more then i liked it. There was some classic DDG moments and also some ridiculous attempts at change and progression.

"The Hot N Heavy" Is DDG doing what they do best. Heavy, Fast, Raw, Raunchy, and Breakdowns. Any fan of "In Vogue" will be very happy. The only difference is longer more creative songs that are more then verse/chorus/breakdown. I feel this album is more DDG and less generic Metalcore/screamo/emo or whatever you wanna call it like past albums where. I gave this album 4 stars because in the end its not original. We've all heard this before its nothing new and they just realized WTAFT wasnt the way they wanted to go so they went back to their roots and polished them up and attempted to perfect them. All in all good album and i am looking forward to the perfected band we'll see on their next album....hopefully"
