"I first heard the Murphys several years ago when a buddy insisted I give this album a listen. He was certain it would blow me away and he was right. I'm not really much of a punk fan, but what the Murphys have got goes beyond genre preference. These guys have got heart and soul. The only songs I do not care for are "Wheel of Misfortune" and "The Only Road", but the strength of the rest of the album far more than makes up for these two weaker tracks. "Curse of a Fallen Soul", "Upstarts and Broken Hearts", and "The Fighting 69th" are standout, and "Amazing Grace" is the best version of that hymn I've ever heard, bar none thanks to the sheer balls these guys have."
