"The Druschetzky Keyboard Concerto is a witty, beautiful, and neglected gem. The two subjects of the first movement are both beguiling in a rustic, whistleable sort of way, and the second movement contains a chord progression that sounds startlingly like the Beatles song "Because". The third movement is a set of variations on a tune similar to the first subject of the first movement.
The harpsichord sound is bright and in focus, and not at all washed out by the wind band that accompanies it. The performer is technically sure and amenable to to the wittiness of the music.
The other Druschetzky material is also enjoyable. The Masek is not quite as sparkling and witty, but it is worth listening to. A really nice disk."
