Synopsis

Album Description
side project by Cadoo of Gridlock. During the recording of Gridlock's "Further" Both Cadoo and Mike Wells were listening to and interjecting drum and bass into their music. At that time Cadoo was almost fanatical about the harder, moodier tech-step that was being created by producers like Panacea, Digital, and Dom and Roland. Out of this love for drum and bass came the "Enzyme" remix on Further. After completing the remix he decided to try some tracks of his own in this new style. The track "Avatar" was the first of those tracks, a combination of sub-bass and atmospheric synths. It's from a section of that track, that has a floating feeling, came the name Dryft. Now Dryft finds it's home [] and is set to interject the electronic music world with this unique of D & B.

CD Reviews

Simply...Amazing

"All I can say is: WOW. Dryft is a side project of the band Gridlock, and generally side projects pale in comparison to the main effort, but Dryft is as good, if not better than Gridlock (although different kinds of music albeit). The textures and complexity of the music is astonishing. If you like industrial, (or Drum 'N Bass) you NEED this CD. Go, quick, buy it now!"

"On this CD is where drum 'n bass meets industrial music... I have been into electronic music for a while, but only recently heard of this cd, Likewise, if I was as into industrial music, I probably would only recently have heard of this cd... It's on the fringe of the two genres... If you like the band 'Gridlock', certainly get this CD... Dryft happens to be thier side project..It has that Gridlockish sound, but the beats are more coherent and evenly spaced. Spaced... thats a good word for this disc... Because that's what most of the tracks are... Ambient soundscapes with hardcore beats."
