CD Reviews

Huh Hah my big toe!
Robert Graham | New Mexico | 02/22/2000
(2 out of 5 stars)

"First, be forwarned! These are NOT the original tracks. Close, but no cigar. In my opinion, the only three songs worth listening to are "Die Verrater" "Dschinghis Khan", and one of my all-time favorites, "Moskau". My German isn't what it use to be, but I do know at the last two are not the original cuts from the late 70's, and I'm not altogether sure if the artists are the same. Not a bad collection, but pretty pale stuff compared to the originals I drank so much beer to in what was then West Germany. Prosit!"
Great Music
Philip G. Olt | Foster City, CA, United States | 07/19/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I first heard this group a few weeks ago when I bought a CD of European hits and Moskau was the first track. I liked it so much that I located and purchased this CD. I don't understand German, but I find the music to be compelling and very much enjoyable. There is more musical complexity than you find with most disco bands; Rom, the final track, is exceptional! If you enjoy music from this era I strongly recommend this CD. I wish English lyrics were included or readily available, so I could know what the songs are about. I've seen some Internet articles that are helpful, though."
German Pop ABBA-like
Tara L. Dirst | DeKalb, IL USA | 02/02/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"If you like ABBA and catchy 70s pop music, and aren't averse to listening to music in other languages, check out Dschinghis Khan! Toe-tapping fun stuff. Not too serious, but excellent entertainment."
