"The playing on this cd is perfect and beautiful. Hugget and Savino display a deep musical rapport with their effortless phrasing and voluptuos tone. The recording is on period instruments, so the sound can come across as a little muddy at first, but once you get past that, the textures that they create are phenomenal! One can scarcely believe that this is only two instruments at first. The Paganini Grand Sonata is a particular treat. The piece is for solo guitar with violin accompaniment, which is extremely rare. In fact I think it is one of a kind. Most guitarist play it as a solo, not knowing how to handle the chamber skills of playing it as a duet. However, Savino and Hugget pull it off most convincingly. Throughout the album both display supreme virtuosity and musicianship. It makes for great ambiece. I highly recomend this cd to both the serious musician and the laymen who enjoys tasteful music."
