Ogdon The Conqueror.

"This is an excellent CD which showcases work which is inappropriately little-known, and also the gifts of one the century's greatest pianists. Moreover, Ogdon was a champion of underrated music, and in the Dukas and Schmitt there is a strong sense of giving which emerges in the playing. However it is the Dutilleux sonata that is the real gem. What an awesome work! I don't really want to attempt to go into detail about the piece because its greatness - and it is a great work - is highly elusive. Brooding, technical and positive all at once. You will not regret purchasing this CD."
