"Teresa Stratas is simply magnificent. All the superlatives must be thrown in. She is enticing, full voiced, affecting, heart breaking...never heard to better advantage. Gwendolen Killibrew is also stunning as the witch, and there's a very welcome rare appearance by Willard White as the Watersprite. Only the occasional Wagnerian bleating by the tenor might put you off a bit. The sound is OK in this live performance (before a marvelously well behaved audience)."
