CD ReviewsWaste of an opportunity, but by no means a waste! oneflashoflight | PopTopia | 12/14/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Why...oh, why...was the opportunity for a Box Set passed up? NotLame...where were you? Jellyfish box...Posies box...hello?!? The (as of time of writing) 7 discs of Rarities Volumes are each of equal quality and well worth owning. However, it's a travesty, if not a cheapening of the releases, to have not one single word...not one...of liner notes. There's not the first indication of time period (although a fan could probably determine within a few years), thought process, who played what, etc...not for one single song on one single disc in this series. WHAT?!? It's obvious that the cherries were well picked for the 'Through the Cracks' disc as most of those tracks appear scattered throughout this series in, as far as I can tell, their exact form. At least that release featured liner notes and what-for behind each track and I've yet to do a track-by-track comparison. Imagine...forward compiled by comments from Tom Petty, Susan Cowsill, and Denny Cordell. Pages of photos, and track-by-track footnotes, chronological order, live tracks from Rockabilly's 82, etc...oh, the injustice..." Rare, early, 'dug up wonders' from Twilley Steve Kelty | L.A. , CA. | 07/22/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "WoW! This is a dream come true! I'd heard that this amazing genious had hundreds of unreleased songs that he and Phil Seymour wrote and recorded when they were little kids! Sure, it's not some million dollar recording studio but still great to hear. This stuff could go as far back as late '60's. The real treat is Dwight's voice on track #11; " Square Circles", The upbeat pop on "You can change it" on track #14 can only make your bad day turn good. He does an awesome job of "Twisting the night away" . Also, the Beatles; "Come together" and a song; "I can't take it" (which might be a Badfinger song). Good pop music if you don't mind it a bit raw. Twilley's young voice is just heavenly."
