"For a rumanian, used with the sound of the folk music, popular music and oriental music (inspired by 500 years of turks domination of the balkans area), the Rumanian Rhapsody is not only a very fine composition, but a a nice piece to hear. Always you meet agian with you soul, the inner soul.Is elegant, subtile, forcefull and relaxing. His force filters the best sounds of the of the true rumanian spirit. Stands togheter at the top with the Hungarian Rhapsody of Brahms or Rhapsody in Blue of Gershwin. Is a very must. You'll love it !"
ENESCO - Rhapsody Devine

"Enesco is a composer of a most complex nature. To even find recordings of his music, that are decent, is a hard journey in itself. This sampling of his work, is the best I've found. I would LOVE a complete BOX SET with his works, but until then, this is a more than ample substitute. The string arrangements are subtle at times, intriguenly different at others. While listening to any of his symphonies will give you that impression, this CD contains works that are derived obviously because of Enesco's own tremendous talent with the art of the stringed bow. It shows through, with incredible impact, surprisingly so. Either you love Enesco, or you hate him. There is seldom a divided line on him. Give this release a try."
