The superb rock music

"I like whole tracks of the album. Beautiful melodies I have ever

heard. The female vocalist is wonderful! Try them!!"
Who in the Hell were Earth and Fire?

"You'll have a hell of a time finding out it seems. There's precious little info about them in english on the web, even on pages devoted to progressive and psychedelic music. Suffice it to say that Earth and Fire were a very underrated (at least outside of Holland) Dutch progressive psych band with an awesome female vocalist. The sound is unique, but I would recommend this for fans of Shocking Blue, Arthur Lee's Love and early Jefferson Airplane."

(3 out of 5 stars)

""Earth & Fire" is a good band, but this album sounds like poor-man "Shocking Blue" - the voice lacks unique "flavour" of Mariska and is not half that strong... Minus catchy tunes... Keep in mind that this is their first album, and later the band ventured into prog for real (up to a certain extend, however): "Song of the marching children" (Song of the Marching Childrenand "Atlantis" (Atlantis) show classical music-influenced melodies AND - exceptional organ. Just exceptional. But, still, it's still easy listening, and the worst about the band are vocals: unashamed SUNSHINE POP, too sweet to digest...

The Dutch prog-rock has a long history (starting with Group 1850 in 1968, if I am not wrong) and rich tradition: Focus, Ekseption, Trace, Kayak... I wouldn't place "Fire & Earth" in the top 10 of Dutch prog - better try "Supersister" (Iskander"
