"Great, great bassist and great musician! Eberhard Weber in all his class. Nordic atmospeares with Weber double bass and bow, played in a very personal way. Melanchonic and hypnotic sound."

"This album is clearly not for everyone, but anyone who appreciates exploratory music from the late 1970s that has stood up well to time should definately investigate this album. For those who like Keith Jarret's "Arbor Zena", this project goes a step or two further. The recording features a limited orchestra of Oboe, French Horns, and Cellos along with EW and favorite piano sidekick Rainier Bruninghaus creates extremely vivid and dreamy imagery which is occasionally ponderous and almost scary at it's climax on the last piece "Mona II". EW really went out of his way to take his instrument to it's very outer range. Sounds especially good on a cold winter day or night."

"Recently acquired this after getting the "Later That Evening" cd a while
back. Eberhard Weber is a genius. As with his other recordings, you
don't catch it all on the first listen. He writes gorgeous melodies and
bass lines that stay in your head long after you've listened to them.
Weber's ECM 70's recordings with Rainer Bruninghaus on piano have always
been my favorites of his. They seemed to have such a perfect chemistry
together, and Weber's brilliant writing for strings and small groups with
Rainer (as on this cd) is beautiful indeed. Weber has a masterful way of
writing with subtle twists and turns that just mesmerizes you. Had this
on vinyl many, many years ago, and am in musical heaven listening to it
on cd. It's yet another ECM masterpiece from Manfred Eicher and his team
in Germany from the 70's. For me, it doesn't get any better than this.
For further proof of how great an artist Bruninghaus is, check out his two
ECM recordings as a leader (one has the fabulous trumpeter Kenny wheeler
on it). And, of course, "The Following Morning" is brilliantly recorded
as well. 10 million stars.

"This a superb album surpassed by only a few EW and the Colors formation albums. If i haven't recently heard for 1st time the absolutely magnificent Silent Feet and Later That Evening i would have given it 5* - it's in a way sad that Amazon does not let us assign a half star to reviews ..
This is an atmospheric album going broody and melancholic all the time with some beautiful performance mostly by EW here - for gorgeous, more leading piano go to the 2 albums mentioned above.
Eberhard Weber was the my discovery in late 2008. What a musician ! It almost renders boring some other great bass / cello talents."
