"Gary Stroutsos is the finest Native American Flute player in the United States who is not himself a Native American Indian. A master flute player of various forms of jazz and world music, he became fascinated with the Native American flute. He interviewed and studied with a number of Indian Native American flute players, living with them and learning many ancient and authentic songs from the memories of these Native Americans. Taking the simple original melodies, Gary Stroutsos has the ability to ornament each song with appropriate accents, grace notes, and other ornaments. The result is a collection of authentic and exceptionally beautiful flute songs that will satisfy any listener.



Most of these songs are not New Age or Space Music or Sounds of Nature as are some of the many popular albums of Native American flute music. Most are authentic and original American Indian songs played on a Native American flute with appropriate accompaniment. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who loves such music."
