CD ReviewsEconoline Crush Is Back And Still Delivering the Goods! Hectic | AL, USA | 02/13/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Before I review this album I want to explain how I first found out about EC. It was 1998, I was looking around in a music store called Sound Shop at the mall. I wanted to find something new to listen to. I hadn't been listening to music (of any kind) but for maybe a few years. Movie soundtracks (the Mortal Kombats, Batman & Robin, etc.) and some of the artists I had discovered on those CD's were the only things I listened to. I started flipping through different artists in reverse alphabetical order in the Rock/Pop section until I came across one of the title banners reading "Econoline Crush". An intriguing name to be sure. It sounded familiar, so I grabbed the only CD in there, "The Devil You Know" and looked at the song titles. I was sure I hadn't heard of any of these, but after a few minutes decided to buy it and check it out. It did not disappoint! Practically every song on TDYK was gold! I immediately bought their previous album "Affliction" and after a few years "Brand New History" once released. After that...nothing. Nothing for years. I had read that they had disbanded, so I had basically written off EC for any more albums. Then I heard somewhere that they got back together to make a new album. That album is Ignite! Here is the song list, since Amazon doesn't list it: 1. Could Have Been 2. Dirty 3. Psychotic 4. Get Out Of the Way 5. Hole In My Heart 6. Unbelievable 7. The Love You Feel 8. Heaven's Falling 9. Burn It Down 10. Bleed Through 11-22. (Blank) 23. You Don't Know What It's Like 2007 Again, practically every song on this album is excellent! The first 3, right off the bat, could become singles. (Which 'Dirty' has already) They are hard hitting and have memorable sounds. 'Hole In My Heart' and 'The Love You Feel' are great songs both for the music and the lyrics. (Just from the titles it is obvious what they are about) And lastly 'You Don't Know What It's Like 2007' is an awesome revamp of the original song from 'Brand New History'. The sound is a bit different, with the use of pianos being the most noticeable change. I've heard some people argue that Econoline Crush's older stuff is better than their newer stuff. (Namely the sound transition from 'The Devil You Know' to 'Brand New History') While I have to agree that there is a definate difference between these two, I don't agree that one is better than the other. I like all of EC's albums and while 'Brand New History' is a change from their older stuff, it's still a great album. So if you're familiar with 'BNH' and like it, Ignite will give you more of the same + some newer sounds. Enjoy Ignite!" Great comeback Jason Hardy | Nova Scotia, Canada | 04/10/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "I almost forgot about these guys. I remember hearing Brand New History back in 2001 and then the band seemed to disappear. I came across the new CD Ignite by mistake and glad I did. Great album. This is old school Econoline Crush. Great catchy stuff with some killer music and lyrics. Hurst is very talented and great to hear him back!"
