"This CD is brilliant. If you're not familiar with Albanian folk, this would be a great introduction, and if you already are a fan, even better. This album combines many elements of Albanian folk including clarinet, Albanian traditional instruments and some Albanian polyphony of the legendary musicians of "Family Lela De Permet" with jazz piano, drums, contrabass, darbouka percussion, etc. All this accompanies the beautiful voice of Eda Zari (some backup singers too). Lots of jazz solos, folk takeovers, and amplitudes. Each song is very rich in elements, and the musicians are impeccable. Certain songs are very upbeat and effervescent, others melancholic, profound and mesmerizing. Eda and others' singing is beautiful with the little "Albanian slur" -- elongation and descension. Those who know Albanian music will know what I'm talking about. My favorite songs are: Amazing Age, Zanat, Tribute to "çobani", Malbi, Prelude to Albanian Nature, and "Kaba" never in cage.I highly recommend this CD.
