CD Reviews

Bay Area rock and roll from the Tide
K. Drew | Back East, USA | 11/21/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There is probably no reason to write a review of Eddie and the Tide because if you found this page, you are obviously a fan looking for their music that was either lost in a move or left behind at your parent's house or met some other fate. These guys always put on a great live show and their albums were an extension of this. "Go Out and Get It" was a fine effort by the band with many good tunes.

Searching the net will land you where you on the band's website where you can read more so have fun! SF Bay Area music was never better.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 2009 - Limited edition CD released this month with full artwork. Pick it up today as it will not last long.

When listening to this album in its remastered state, it validates how good Eddie and the Tide were as a band. This album was somewhat overlooked by radio although the re-recordings of "Runnin' Wild, Runnin' Free" and "One In A Million" were welcomed to a national audience that could not get a hold of the indie releases "I Do It For You" and "Maybe I'll Get Lucky". One could argue that having the album produced by Eddie Money was a risk but it did not hamper the sound. The album has many stand out tracks from "What Love Is All About" to "Call My Name" (always great in concert) to "This Could Be The One" (another great concert classic). The soft side of the band shine in "This Girl" and "It's A Gift". For those needing to relive the great days of great music that sounds as fresh now as it did then, pick this up. Go to their website and support the band. Thanks for taking time to read this."
