"Although I've heard a few of these tracks before from the original discs, the previous recordings didn't begin to compare with the improvements that they are able to make to the volume, sound quality, etc. of these recordings. It is also a profound pleasure to hear in every recording how Eddie Cantor was able to "put a song over", i.e. "sell" a song, even those that would be indifferent at best, treated by any other entertainer. This CD set is a vital additionto the collection of anyone who is fond of the great popular music and comic songs of the first four decades of the 20th century, and pays especial attention to the 1920s."
