"Originally issued as Atlantic LP 1478 in 1967, "The Tender Storm" finds Harris fronting an excellent support group of Cedar Walton (p), Ron Carter (b), Bobby Thomas (d), and Billy Higgins (d).

Harris wasn't the most technically proficient sax player, but no one was more lyrical. His lines are often poignant and haunting--one of my all-time favorite jazz musicians. Too bad there's only about 40 minutes of music here, but it's a welcome addition to his output on CD."
