"I love the music of eddie rabbitt. Having said that, I wish Electra / Warner Brothers / RCA would put out a 2 CD set of all his hits. These CD's are more or less combinations of the vinyl greatest hits one and two. There are also a few hits from the 1986 CD Rabbitt Tracks showing up here and there. I have the vinyl 1982 release of Eddie Rabbitt's Greatest Hits on Warner Brothers and I've never seen it on CD. And while this CD covers the same hits as a lot of the other "best of" CD's out there. They all seem to fall short of being a true Greatest Hits package. Where are hits like 'I Don't Know Where To Start, 'You Put The Beat In My Heart, and 'Nothing Like Falling In Love. It seems that they keep taking the same 15 hits, reworking the tracks in different orders and slapping a new cover and title on it. I just wish someone would put a two CD set together of all his hits and be done with it. Anyone at Rhino Records listening?"

Basic skimming off of top hits

"With over 40 country charting hits and 14 top-100 pop hits, Eddie Rabbitt's catalog is criminally ignored in the CD marketplace. Though inexcusable, this misstep may be part of the controversy stemming from Rabbitt's seamless transitioning between country and pop material leaving his repertoire being ignored by the pop compilers as belonging to "country" and being shunned by the country purists as being "too pop". This arrogance notwithstanding, with his degree of chart success, Eddie Rabbitt CD's should be prominent in any decent country or pop sales rack. This greatest hits package, one in the line of WEA's "Essential" mid-line series, merely skims the cream of the crop by presenting a sampling of his number one country hits along with one other track, his original "Kentucky Rain", the song that went top-20 for Elvis in 1970. With that single exception, being a collection of number one hits, there isn't much one can argue with the song selection on the basis of chart performance but omitting "Step By Step", a number five pop chart hit as well as number one country is a bit of a mystery. For a mid-price piece, this is reasonably well done with some backround on the artist included in the liner notes booklet along with decent sound quality. Importantly, these are original versions of these tunes, not the rerecorded ones that have shown up on other label compilations of Rabbitt's tunes done originally for Electra. For the newcomer to Rabbitt's catalog, this is a good place to start but for the true fan, there is not much new here to get excited about. Hopefully, someone - and Rhino would be the obvious choice as they have access to the Electra, and therefore Rabbitt's catalog - will properly compile the music of this sorely underrepresented performer, and soon."

This CD could have been perfect.

"Finally!I now have an Eddie Rabbitt CD with "Any which way but loose" on it. But to make this Good compilation CD a Great CD would have been to include the song " Step by Step". How in the world was that left off this record! This CD was almost perfect."
