"I discovered Edgar Cruz aa few years ago after buying one of his CDs (Opening night 2) for almost free at a local retailer. I bought it because it was so cheap, along with several other cheap CDs - most of which I tossed out because they were junk. I bought this one because it had a drawing on the cover of a guy (Edgar) playing a classical guitar. i thought to myself, "How bad can it be? - It's just guitar music" I took the CD Home and put in the CD player. As I listened to the variety of music he played I was impressed right away by his skill, but not every song fit into my personal interests. As I continued listening, I began to realize that, not only is Cruz a very good guitar player - he is quite incredible - a real virtuoso! When he played Bohemian Rhapsody - a live recording, no less - I was completely blown away! I am forever hooked.
The A.R.T. of Edgar Cruz is my second purchase of his work, and it is extraordinarily good. I enjoy greatly it because it is his rendition of many of the songs that I grew up with. He follows his standard form, playing the bass, rhythm, lead guitar, and vocals - and sometimes percussion. Cruz is in a league by himself!
I particularly enjoy Oye Como Va, We Are the Champions, and Pride and Joy, but it's all good stuff.
I think you should buy it.
