Synopsis

Album Description
Guitar hero Glenn Tipton rose to the heights of musical fame as half of the signature twin-axe assault that put Judas Priest at the top of the heavy metal heap for all time. In addition to his spectacularly aggressive and melodic work with that genre-defining band, Tipton has delivered adventurous solo discs spotlighting his virtuoso art. His debut effort, 1997's masterful Baptizm of Fire, is now expanded with bonus tracks. Now available for the first time, Edge of the World combines the artistry of Tipton with the late, great Who bassist John Entwistle and drummer Cozy Powell. With a searing new album and renewed Priest activity, 2006 promises to be world-shaking indeed for Glenn Tipton.

"Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest)

Entwistle (The Who)

Cozy Powell (Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, etc etc...

The reason i bought this cd is because i am a Judas Priest fan and a lover of the Drums work of Powell...

I think this is a really cool album, 3 classic rock musicians with a little experimenting point of view...

The classic Heavy Metal magic is present with excelent and cool heavy riffs, along with Cozy's Powell Thunder Drums...

The best songs : The holy Man, and Resolution, just to bang your head !

As a Metal collector since childhood and a lead guitar player i recomend this for true fans of classic heavy metal...

"What an interesting release. Features great musicians from many bands from the 60's through the 90's. Glenn Tipton [Guitars/vocals], John Entwistle [Bass], and Cozy Powell [Drums] combine with a distinct sound on this release, which was actually recorded in 1996, when "Baptizm Under Fire" was released. The line-up was considered too old school by Atlantic records and went into the vaults until 2006. I only have one problem with this release and that is the vocals. Although, Glenn does an excellent job with backgrounds and some harmonies with Judas Priest, he is lacking here. This is actually a great piece of history, since we longer have Cozy or John to share their creativity and talent with us. This is a release more for a connosier than a buyer of the hits. There is no trademark single here, but the songs all showcase the talents of the trio and Don Airey even plays some keyboards. This will not be the shining jewel of your collection, but it is an amazing piece of Rock history. Look for this CD at an affordable price, because presently it is not difficult to find nor is it worth more than $10 to $12."

"Ok, so i found both of Glenn's solo cds on bmg music, and said, screw it, if he is playing the guitar on any cd, i have to have it. so I bought them both. out of the two, Edge of the World is my favorite. excellent guitar and bass work, awesome vocals, just good songwriting. When i listened to the Baptizm of Fire cd, it seemed to me that he was kind of trying to do the whole death and doom metal vocals, with the growling and slight voice altering. even though, it has an awesome guitar intrumental song on there. all over awesome music."
