More like a "better of" collection...

"Okay first you need to know that EKO is really John O'Conner who now does music for the Fox TV show King of the Hill. John's an excellent acoustic guitarist, composer, arranger, conductor... when need be. a one-man-everything-in-the-music-business guy. Oh, and EKO means "one" in Sanskrit.Evolution is mainly a compilation of tracks from his prior CDs but even if you have one or more of them you haven't heard this music because he remixed every track for this CD. Oh, the basics are there and they're just as good or better but the point is that this isn't JUST a compilation.Like all his music, this music is a bit hard to pin down. It would probably fall under the general heading of World Music traditions, but listen close and you'll hear Folk, Pop, New Age, Cajun, Irish, Caribbean, Reggae and probably some other stuff I didn't recongize! This music is light-hearted and just plain fun to listen to. It has an easygoing, "don't worry, be happy" attitude to it--but there's enough substance that if you really listen it will pay off. Got a touch of rainy-day melancholy nipping at your heels? Well, EKO has a touch of sunshine to brighten your day.In short, this is excellent music. If you like happy, instrumental music then this can't miss! Highly recommended."
Simply good

"I own two of his previous releases and so when I came across this compilation I did not hesitate to buy it. This is purely an improvement to some of his previously released songs. They sound much better. This is a kind of cd which any accoustic guitar lover would not want to miss. I play it each time I go to bed and it is so soothing. For those that would like to expand their collection of this kind of music I highly recommend Govi as well."
