"Being a HUGE El da Sensei fan im abit biased admittedly, but i defy any hiphop fan to listen to this and TRY tell me its not brilliant!! From the opening track "Crowd pleasa" (2006's best track so far) produced by ILLMIND, El is in top form ripping into the beat like a wild boar at a carcass. (excuse the metaphor) Next up is a hypnotic head nodder "Natural feel good" followed by "Hold on" which both display some of the best rhymes EL has ever put down. From here throughout the next 5 songs its strictly partytime. "Live in the flesh", "Lights, camera, action", "Thats how it goes", "Up in da spot" and "Rock it out" are all high octane, high energy party jams that showcase EL's brilliant delivery over some of the funkier beats on the album. Next up is a collabo that ive personally waited many years for, between EL and O.C. on "Nuttin to lose" produced by FYRE DEPT. Its a brilliantly vivid tale by both mc's at the top of their game. Next up its a particularly high period with the awesome "Gunblast" and "Blow sh*t up" where the beats are almost ear destroying they're so hard hitting. Then there is the scratch-fest that is the DJ REVOLUTION produced "Whats my name?" where both mc+dj go buckwild outdoing each other til it reaches a crescendo and erupts. Following this is a collabo with SEAN PRICE called "No matter" that is strictly off the chain. The beat sounds possessed by some type of devil with a haunting electric guitar loop on top of a bone shuddering boom bap. Ending proceedings is the 2min 2verse 2chorus title track "The unusual" just reminding heads what time it is and who's in charge of this lyrical ride. All in all he's actually improved in areas from his previous solo album few years back. After hearing afew tracks in between these projects it became abundantly clear that this cat is as hunger as he was when he started off with the Artifacts. The mere point that he was probably not the strongest of the 2 in that group at times and has gone on to make the 2 best solo albums compared to his former partner is testament to his work and his ability. Sensei comes back kicking harder than ever!!!!"

"This CD is nice all the way through. This isn't that ABC bs thats popular in hip hop these days. El Da Sensei's skills and lyrics are on point."
A Natural Feel Good Album.

"One of my favorite MC's droppin science throughout the entire length of the LP. It's worth owning without a doubt. The production was cool-sounding and on the lyrical end, its nothing more or less than you can expect from his work with the old duo (Artifacts). In other words, flows for days and lyrics that never get tiresome. A++"
